Not every WordPress site should move

Still comparing platforms? Read our WordPress vs EmDash comparison for 2026 to understand the differences in SEO, hosting, plugins and migration effort.

EmDash is an interesting choice for modern content-driven projects, but switching CMS is a rebuild decision, not simply an export button.

Worth evaluating

Content-led websites

Business websites, blogs, editorial projects and sites where content editing and lightweight integrations are the primary needs.

Needs deeper analysis

Plugin-heavy workflows

WooCommerce, subscriptions, membership areas, LMS features and complex page-builder websites may be better off staying on WordPress or choosing another architecture.

Understand the work before spending anything

Send us the public URL. We will provide an initial feasibility assessment and identify what needs further access or discovery. No sales call or migration commitment is required.

WordPress inventory

A preliminary look at your theme, page builder, content types, critical plugins, forms, integrations and editorial workflow.

EmDash fit check

Which parts can move with the built-in importer, what needs rebuilding, and whether staying on WordPress is the better choice.

SEO and URL risks

A first pass at important URLs, redirects, metadata, navigation, image handling and anything likely to complicate a safe launch.

Scope and honest quote

A suggested approach, likely complexity, a clear starting scope and an estimate for development and optional ongoing care.

Content transfer, rebuilding and launch checks

EmDash has a WordPress importer, but importing data is only one part of delivering a working website. The exact deliverables are agreed after the audit.

Already considering EmDash for a new site? We can discuss a fresh build as well, without an unnecessary WordPress migration step.

Content and media migration

Import supported pages, posts, authors, taxonomies and media through EmDash's WordPress import tools, then check the results rather than assuming the import is complete.

Theme and page rebuild

Recreate the essential design, navigation and responsive page templates in EmDash. WordPress themes and page-builder layouts do not convert automatically.

SEO-aware transition

Map important URLs and redirects, review titles, canonical tags, metadata, internal links, sitemaps and search visibility before and after launch.

Forms and integrations

Identify business-critical features and replace, rebuild or reconnect them where suitable EmDash alternatives exist. Integration work is scoped separately when complex.

Staging, testing and launch

Work on a separate environment, check representative content and user flows, verify mobile layouts and then plan a controlled domain cutover.

Handover and next steps

Document the setup and any known differences, explain content editing in EmDash and offer support after the migration if needed.

Small-site pricing to make the first step easier

We are offering accessible starting rates while we build our EmDash migration portfolio. The audit establishes whether your site qualifies and what the final quote includes.

Things to know before switching CMS

EmDash is still evolving. A measured transition is more valuable than overselling a new platform.

Can every WordPress website be migrated to EmDash?

No. Content-led business sites and blogs are often better candidates than complex WooCommerce stores, membership systems or sites dependent on many specialised plugins. The free audit is intended to identify those limits before you commit.

Will my theme and plugins transfer automatically?

No. EmDash can import supported WordPress content, but a WordPress theme, page-builder templates and plugin-specific functionality usually need to be rebuilt or replaced. We include this in the scope discussion.

Will I keep my Google rankings?

No migration provider can guarantee rankings. We plan URL mapping, redirects, metadata, internal linking and launch checks to reduce avoidable SEO risk, and we recommend monitoring Search Console after launch.

Does the $799 price cover my entire website?

It is a starting price for a small, straightforward content website with limited templates and no complex integrations. Larger sites, custom layouts, ecommerce and extensive plugin replacements require a separate quote after the free audit.

Do I have to buy monthly maintenance?

No. Maintenance is optional. You own your site and hosting accounts, and can choose ongoing monitoring and support or manage the website yourself.

Is Webtaculos affiliated with Cloudflare?

No. EmDash is an open-source CMS from Cloudflare. Webtaculos is an independent development provider and is not an official Cloudflare partner for this service.

Prefer to stay on WordPress?

That is a perfectly reasonable outcome of an audit. We can help improve the current website instead of replacing a platform that is doing its job.

Choose what fits the website

Webtaculos works with WordPress and modern web platforms. An EmDash migration is an option, not our default recommendation for every project.

Could your WordPress site run on EmDash?

Send the website URL and tell us what matters most: design, blog content, forms, integrations, SEO or a specific reason for moving. We will review the public site and reply with an initial assessment and next steps.

Free initial review. No obligation. Do not send credentials or private customer data through this form.
